Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it may be used, and the limited situations in which another party may receive it. By using Wichita County Criminal History, you accept the practices stated below.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be retained long enough to review and answer it. We keep the message within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers automatically receive basic technical details when a page loads:

  • Page-view timestamps and time spent on pages
  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser name and version
  • The referring site, when one is supplied
  • Pages requested during the visit
  • The device's assigned IP address

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files saved on a device. They and analytics services help us understand aggregate traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. A browser can reject cookies, although blocking them may change how some features work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Routing a requested search to the selected provider
  • Maintaining site speed, availability, and security
  • Finding and repairing technical faults
  • Measuring which pages are useful
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not compile, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The published material explains where Wichita County records are held, including WCSO, the court clerks, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report about another person.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy policies govern information submitted to those tools, including retention and sharing choices that we do not control. Read the provider's policy before running a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to WCSO, court portals, Texas agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this domain, the destination's privacy terms apply. Review them before giving that service personal information.

Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across sites and select ads. We do not operate that tracking.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be available to:

  • Analytics providers that measure performance and traffic
  • Search partners that process a query
  • Advertising networks that serve page ads
  • A government body when a valid legal order requires disclosure

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security practices help protect collected information. No internet service is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A verified request concerning a minor's submitted data will be handled by deleting that information.

Your Data Rights

Rights can vary by residence and applicable law. Texas Government Code Chapters 552 and 411 govern public information and criminal-history dissemination by government custodians, not private consumer reports maintained here. A visitor may still:

  • Ask whether we hold information connected to them
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • Ask for deletion where the law permits it
  • Object to certain processing where a legal right applies

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised as site practices or legal duties change. A revised version will be posted here with its new effective date.

Effective date: August 10, 2026
